Local Plan Submission Consultation – Have Your Say
Tendring District Council has begun the final public consultation on the Submission Version of the Local Plan Review. This consultation runs for six weeks, from Monday 7 September to Monday 19 October 2026.
This is the last opportunity for residents, businesses, community groups, landowners and other interested parties to comment before the Plan is submitted to the Government for independent examination.
The Local Plan sets out where more than 18,000 new homes, along with jobs, infrastructure and community facilities, are proposed across Tendring between 2026 and 2043. The Submission Version includes updated proposals following earlier consultation, including changes to some development sites and revised policies.
What this consultation covers
At this stage, comments must focus on:
Legal compliance – whether the Plan has been prepared correctly
Soundness – whether the Plan is justified, effective, and consistent with national policy
Only comments submitted during this consultation will be passed directly to the Planning Inspector.
How to take part
Residents can respond:
Online via the consultation portal: https://tendringdc.oc2.uk/document/72 - link will be live on 7 September.
In person at one of TDC’s five face‑to‑face consultation events taking place across the district in late September and early October - dates and venues to be advised.
Why your views matter
An up‑to‑date Local Plan helps Tendring manage growth, secure infrastructure, and reduce the risk of speculative development. Your feedback will be considered by the Planning Inspector during the examination process.
Great Bromley Parish Council encourages all residents to review the consultation documents and submit their own representations.
